Sandra Bullock's Oscar acceptance speech(英文付き、女優サンドラブロックの受賞スピーチ)を楽しむ

Best Actress Sandra Bullock's Oscar acceptance speech
"Did I really earn this or did I just wear you all down? I would like to thank the Academy for allowing me in the last month to have the most incredible ride with rooms full of artists that I see tonight and that I've worked with before and I hope to work with in the future, who inspire me and blaze trails for us. Four of them that I've fallen deeply in love with I share this night with and I share this award with.
"Gabby [Sidibe], I love you so much. You are exquisite. You are beyond words to me. Carey [Mulligan], your grace and your elegance and your beauty and your talent makes me sick. Helen [Mirren], I feel like we are family through family and I don't have the words to express just what I think of you. And Meryl [Streep], you know what I think of you and you are such a good kisser.
"I have so many people to thank for my good fortune in this lifetime and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I know. To the family that allowed me to play them, the Tuohy family, I know they're in here and you'll probably hear her in a minute. Maybe not. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to… the family that made this film that gave me the opportunity to do something different. John Lee Hancock, Gil Netter, Alcon, Warner Bros., the actors, everyone who's shown me kindness when it wasn't fashionable, I thank you. To everyone who was mean to me when it wasn't… George Clooney threw me in a pool years ago. I'm still holding a grudge. But there's so many people to thank.
"Not enough time, so I would like to thank what this film is about for me which are the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from. Those moms and parents never get thanked. I, in particular, failed to thank one. So… if I can take this moment to thank Helga B. for not letting me ride in cars with boys until I was 18 because she was right. I would've done what she said I was gonna do. For making me practice every day when I got home. Piano, ballet, whatever it is I wanted to be. She said to be an artist, you had to practice every day, and for reminding her daughters that there's no race, no religion, no class system, no color, nothing, no sexual orientation that makes us better than anyone else. We are all deserving of love. So, to that trailblazer, who allowed me to have that. And this. And this. I thank you so much for this opportunity that I share with these extraordinary women and my lover Meryl Streep. Thank you."

オードリーヘップバーンのシャレードで英語を聴く( Audrey Hepburn charade)

First scene

Short plot
Regina "Reggie" Lampert meets a charming stranger, Peter Joshua, on a skiing holiday in Megève. She returns to Paris, planning to ask her husband Charles for a divorce, but finds all of their possessions gone. The police notify her that Charles has been murdered, thrown from a train. They give Regina her husband's travel bag. At the funeral, Regina is struck by three odd characters who show up to view the body, including one who sticks the corpse with a pin and another who places a mirror in front of the corpse's mouth and nose, both to verify he is dead.
She is summoned to the U.S. Embassy, where she meets CIA administrator Hamilton Bartholomew . He informs her Charles was involved in a theft during World War II. As part of the OSS (the predecessor of the CIA), Charles, "Tex" Panthollow, Herman Scobie, Leopold W. Gideon and Carson Dyle were parachuted behind enemy lines to deliver $250,000 in gold to the French Resistance. Instead, they buried it, but were then ambushed by a German patrol. Dyle was badly wounded and left to die; the rest got away. Charles doublecrossed them, digging up the gold and selling it. He was killed but the money remains missing – and the U.S. government wants it back. Reggie recognizes the oddballs from the funeral in pictures shown to her by Bartholomew. He insists she has the money, even if she doesn't know where it is...

Review
Suspenseful and charming, funny and frenetic, and making full use of its Parisian location and capable cast (as well as a memorable Mancini score), director Stanley Donen pulls together a superior film that, in many ways, serves as a signpost of the changing times.

CHARADE was released at the end of 1963, after JFK's assasination (in fact, that word was used in the film by Audrey Hepburn, and was dubbed out in certain showings during its initial release), and on the eve of the Beatles invasion. Viewed today, it plays almost like a marriage of the Golden Age of Hollywood and the darker, more explicit modern era of film.
This is an entertaining thriller/comedy with a great cast. Audrey Hepburn, with incredible beauty and grace, gives another of her sparkling performances, and is perfect for this clever plot that actually keeps us guessing until the very end.
Cary Grant is as smooth as always, Walter Matthau looks super sleazy in a scrappy mustache, Ned Glass is funny as a sneezing crook, and it's rounded out with George Kennedy and James Coburn, who drops lit matches on our lovely Audrey !

It's well written by Peter Stone, with some funny lines...my favorite is: "you fell for it like an egg from a tall chicken".
Henry Mancini's score is delightful, and the Oscar nominated theme song is the kind of melody one is humming long after the film is over...and it's given several interpretations, like the "James Bond" version for the titles.

サンドラブロック主演映画 While you were sleeping を楽しむ

Trailer

Short plot
Lucy Moderatz (Bullock) is a lonely fare collector on the Chicago elevated railway who has a secret crush on a handsome commuter named Peter Callaghan (Gallagher). On Christmas day, Lucy rescues Peter from an oncoming train after a mugger pushes him onto the tracks. Peter falls into a coma, and Lucy accompanies him to the hospital, where a nurse overhears her fantasizing aloud, "I was going to marry him." Misinterpreting her, the nurse tells Peter's family that Lucy is his fiancée. At first Lucy is too caught up in the panic to explain the truth, and afterward she is too embarrassed.
With no family and few friends, Lucy becomes so captivated with the quirky Callaghans and their unconditional love for her that she cannot bring herself to hurt them by revealing that Peter doesn't even know her. She spends a delayed Christmas with the family, then meets Peter's younger brother Jack (Pullman), who has taken over his father's furniture-moving business. Jack is suspicious of Lucy at first, but he falls in love with her as they spend time together. They develop an intimate relationship and soon after Lucy falls in love with Jack as well.

I absolutely love this movie! I could watch it again and again and never get sick of it. It's a touching comedy with a hilarious twist.
I have watched this movie no less than 400 times since its release. The characters are so genuine and lovable; and I love to see Bill Pullman's every move and gesture, the chemistry between Bill Pullman and Sandra Bullock is just so heart-warming.

Back to the future(バックツーザフューチャ)から英語を学ぶ

Short plot
In 1985, Doc Emmett Brown shows teenage Marty his new creation: a car which can travel through the time. The heart of the time machine is "the flux capacitor," invented by Dr. Brown. The time machine needs plutonium to provide the power for the flux capacitor. Marty uses the car to escape from Libyan terrorists and accidentally goes back to the year 1955. Marty seeks out and meets Dr. Brown in 1955. The time machine is out of Plutonium, and there is no Plutonium available for the time machine in 1955. By chance, Marty knows the time and place of a one-time natural event (Lightning Strike) that can provide the power to transport the time machine and Marty back to 1985.

Review
During the Reagan era of 1980s-America, Marty McFly(Michael J. Fox) enters a time machine created by an eccentric inventor(Christopher Lloyd) and goes back to the year 1955. Marty meets the two teenagers who will become his future parents and must romantically unite them without failure. Otherwise, Marty will literally cease to exist in any form.

Zemeckis' "Back To The Future" is far more than just a kids' movie. The film is a seamless blend of several different genres: Comedy, Science Fiction, Teen Movie, and Love Story. Zemeckis successfully and convincingly captures the look and feel of 1950s-America. Michael J. Fox is great as Marty McFly; I'm only sorry that Fox wasn't able to maintain his success as a film actor. Christopher Lloyd and Crispin Glover are two of the greatest character actors in recent cinema. "BTTF" doesn't have one dull moment from start to finish.
Excellent picture starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd. This movie had the magic and the chemistry all the way through that make family pictures great. Fox (as Marty McFly) goes back in time to 1955 and winds up seeing his parents (sexy Lea Thompson & Crispin Glover) before they were married. He is doing everything he can to prevent altering history, especially when the young mother McFly makes passes at her future son...well he does affect history in a good way for Marty's dad & family...and then the young Lloyd (Dr Brown - a great role for Lloyd) has to get McFly back to his time 1985. This movie has 2 Dr. Browns, 2 Biffs, 2 sets of McFly parents. This is really full of suspense and comedy. Biff was just a great heel in this movie. This is such a fun movie, the acting is great and seeing the same scene from different angles is great and the entire tale of this adventure is just non stop fun and laughs. A highly recommended family science fiction/comedy movie. Huey Lewis the Power of Love was a huge hit to the point I got sick of it after overuse of hearing it..

He chances upon Will solving it, but Will runs off. While out drinking with his friends, Will meets Skylar (Minnie Driver), a British student about to graduate from Harvard University and go on to Stanford University School of Medicine in California. Afterward, Will gets in a fight and attacks a police officer, and is faced with incarceration. Lambeau arranges for him not to serve jail time if he agrees to study mathematics under Lambeau's supervision and to see a therapist. Will agrees, but treats his first few therapists with contempt and they refuse to work with him. In desperation, Lambeau calls on Sean Maguire (Robin Williams), his estranged college roommate who also grew up in South Boston. Unlike the other therapists, Sean pushes back at Will and overcomes his defense mechanisms, and after a few unproductive sessions Will begins to open up...

Review
Amazing piece of work! This is the movie in 1997 that should have won best picture.I don't think people truly realize the genius behind a film like Good Will Hunting. This story is so intelligent and thought-provoking that several producers who read the script could not fathom it was written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, actors who at their age would normally be portraying drunken frat boys at a party. After all, there are some very mature themes in this movie: abuse, personal pain, distrust and coping with guilt. Yet, there were also comic elements in the film that kept the story from becoming too serious and depressing. This movie demonstrates that despite our natural talents and strengths, we are still vulnerable human beings who get hurt. Absolutely Brilliant! It would have been understandable if this was written by a psychologist, but it wasn't. Hence the widespread acclaim and brilliance behind this piece of work! If THAT is not an indication of sheer genius, then tell me what is? Please, don't say a big boat that collides with an Iceberg.
The acting in Good Will Hunting on all accounts was superb. This was by far Robin Williams's best role to date. He nailed the part with such frank and believable honesty. It couldn't have been done any better. I'm glad he finally got his long deserved oscar. Thankfully, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon did, too. It would have been a crime if the authors of this brilliant work didn't receive the recognition they deserved.

kodomo kabuki is awesome!!!

Kabuki (歌舞伎 kabuki) is classical Japanese dance-drama. Kabuki theatre is known for the stylization of its drama and for the elaborate make-up worn by some of its performers.

The individual kanji characters, from left to right, mean sing (歌), dance (舞), and skill (伎). Kabuki is therefore sometimes translated as "the art of singing and dancing." These are, however, ateji characters which do not reflect actual etymology. The kanji of 'skill' generally refers to a performer in kabuki theatre. Since the word kabuki is believed to derive from the verb kabuku, meaning "to lean" or "to be out of the ordinary", kabuki can be interpreted as "avant-garde" or "bizarre" theatre. The expression kabukimono (歌舞伎者) referred originally to those who were bizarrely dressed and
swaggered on a street.
